Beauty Products Not Worth the Hype

Since I created this blog I have encountered makeup products who lived up to expectations by following their claims, but also some who did not.Continue reading to find out which products I would not recommend purchasing.

These products were not ideal for me, but due to different skin types and concerns, that does not mean they might not work for you.

Too Faced Christmas eyeshadow palettes

Due to the attractive packaging and festive theme these palettes are likely to be on your Christmas wish list.

The brand "Too Faced" is known for it's high quality, chocolate themed, eyeshadow palettes and thus, it would make sense any eyeshadow from them lives up to those standards.

When trying all three eyeshadow palettes of the "Too Faced" 2016 holiday collection I was deeply disappointed. The shadows possess extreme fallout when applied to the eye and most lack pigment.

Each palette claims to be scented with a corresponding Christmas themed scent such as gingerbread, peppermint and eggnog. All the palettes have a very mild, similar vanilla scent disproving the claims.

In addition, other costumers have speculated this issue with Too Faced's annual Christmas eyeshadows by claiming the quality is not as excellent as their permanent palettes.

3CE Shimmer Stick

3CE is a Korean founded makeup brand which is quite popular in Singapore. The 3CE Shimmer Stick highlighter comes in two shades peach and pink. I tried the pink shade.

This highlighter is very pretty when applied onto the skin and is able to provide a three-dimensional finish but it does not stay put.

A few hours after application, I noticed this highlighter spreads out, all around your face, creating a mess. Take note this highlighter was worn on top of primer and foundation meaning it would create a larger mess if worn alone.

Too Faced Melted lipsticks

Having tried both the Too Faced Melted Matte and Melted Chocolate lipsticks I have to admit the melted lipstick was a disappointment.

Too Faced claims this lipstick has "the shine of a gloss, lasting power of a stain and packed pigments of a liquid lipstick, all in one high-impact formula." Although the lipsticks I've tried from this range have rich pigment they are not long lasting.

In addition, the main reason I dislike these lipsticks is due to the taste. If you rub your lips together there is a very foul taste. If it was not for this, I would consider repurchasing.
